Affiliate Marketing - How To Cloak Affiliate Links To Free Up More Cash For You
By Fabian Tan

Cloaking affiliate links allows you to 'protect' your links and prevent people from hijacking your affiliate commissions by bypassing your links and depriving you of the commissions you should get.

There are a number of ways to cloak affiliate links.

One of the easiest ways is to use a URL shortening service such as tinyurl or snipurl. These services shorten your long, ugly URL into something that is shorter in length and more attractive to click on. The other way is to add a folder to your web hosting service called 'likes' or 'recommends', and use a META refresh redirect to direct to your affiliate link.

Here is the code I use for this method:

<br /> &amp;lt;META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="0; URL=your affiliate link"&amp;gt;<br />

This is a super easy way to create an attractive link to click on and it also builds your brand if you put the folder under your own domain name so it would look something like yourname.com/recommends/affiliateproductname.html. That's just an example of how your link would look like.

If you use an autoresponder such as Aweber or Get Response to send our your emails, you can set click tracking on to cloak your affiliate links and track your hits as well. However, the problem with these links is that they are usually long and ugly, so it might pay off to use a service like tinyurl to do the job.

And there you have it; easy ways to cloak your affiliate links so you make more money and spend more time marketing your business and making more profits from less of your marketing expenses. Overall, you win.
